- promote the learning and understanding of Chinese language and culture for young children in Nova Scotia

 

- to assist in establishing new Mandarin programs and educational opportunities in NS such as the piloting of a Mandarin After School Program with the Halifax Regional School Board (began September 2008)

 

- to increase available Mandarin language and cultural teaching resources in the NS community through the creation of a central resource library

 

- to establish a supportive network of trained Mandarin educators in the NS community

 

- to serve as a collective voice on behalf of members and provide volunteer support where needed
